Become a part of Team Reeves Ranch with a Co-Ownership dog!
From time to time we offer some of our top puppies or adult dogs into our co-ownership program. This allows our dogs to live a “normal” life with their new family and return to us for a total of 4 litters.
At Team Reeves Ranch, we believe every dog deserves to be a beloved family member while also contributing to the excellence of our Gold Standard Breeding Program. Our Co-Ownership Program offers select families the opportunity to welcome a pick-of-the-litter puppy, adolescent, or adult breeding/show dog into their homes—without taking on the responsibilities of breeding or showing yourself. This program is designed to be a win-win partnership. The co-owner provides a loving home, ensuring the dog stays happy, healthy, and well cared for, while TRR manages all aspects of breeding and showing. The dog remains in the co-owner’s care full-time, except for potentially being shown for 3 months and designated breeding and whelping periods at our ranch. How It Works:
Female: • Co-owners receive a top-quality TRR Border Collie at a reduced cost. • The dog breed starts at 2 years old, producing 4 litters total, with $500 paid per litter to the co-owner. • TRR covers all breeding-related expenses, including DNA and OFA testing, show transportation, photos and showing fees if the dog competes. • The co-owner may keep one puppy from any one litter. • If selected for showing, the dog may travel to Texas for two months of training and competition (covered by TRR) around the age of 6 months old. • Once all contract terms are fulfilled, full ownership and AKC registration are transferred to the co-owner. • The dog will need to come back to the ranch during breeding (approximately 1.5 weeks) and birthing (approximately 7 weeks) for all 4 litters. Most breeding females will have two litters a year. • Once the dog enters her reproductive span, constant communication between both parties is a must. This will ensure the proper timing for heat cycles, breeding and vet appointments. There is no special care required during pregnancy except lower activity during the last two weeks of pregnancy.
Males: • Co-owners receive a top-quality TRR Border Collie at a reduced cost. • The dog breeding’s starting at 1.5 years old with $500 paid per litter to the co-owner.
To qualify as a Co-Ownership home, you must live within 4 hours (or so) away and must be willing to travel to bring the dog to us or within a close proximately, when needed. This program allows us to maintain the highest breeding standards while ensuring our dogs live fulfilling lives in family environments. If you’re interested in co-owning one of our current or future puppies or dogs, please fill out our application and select the Co-Ownership option. Join us in raising exceptional Border Collies while providing a loving home—a partnership that benefits everyone, especially the dog.
